In-Home Respite
Do you provide care to your loved one with Parkinson’s?
Do you find it hard to get away, run errands or meet up with friends?
Are you worried when you have to leave your loved one for even 10 to 15 minutes?
If you answered yes to the above questions, our In-Home Respite Program might be right for you.
How does the program work?
Through this program, your family may be eligible to receive up to six hours of subsidized respite care per week. By subsidized, we mean that the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego will pay for a portion of that care. Non-medical respite care can cost up to $25 an hour. Once you are enrolled in the program, respite care will cost you $6 – $13 per hour depending on your level of income; the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego will pay the balance.
How do I know if I’m eligible?
To be eligible, you must have access to less than $62,900 per year as an individual or $71,900 per year as a family. (This is 120% of the HUD moderate income level.) Income verification will be requested to determine eligibility and your share of cost ($6 – $13 per hour).
