On behalf of our Empowerment Event Planning Committee and our Parkinson’s Association Board of Directors, we want to express to you a HUGE thank you for your participation in our 1st Empowerment Event last Friday.
Well over 300 individuals participated in the Event, and although it was a bit crowded, frankly we just couldn’t turn anyone away. Thank you for your understanding of the tight quarters! 108 of you provided feedback regarding the event via the Evaluation forms. 106 of you gave it the highest rating which is awesome and quite a tribute to our great Presenters and representatives from our Title Sponsor Acadia Pharmaceuticals and additional sponsors AbbVie, Lundbeck, Medtronic, Silverado and U.S. World Meds.
Parkinson’s support groups, Rock Steady Boxing, Tremble Clefs (who also held a terrific musical presentation at lunch time), MusicWorx, Inc. and entities that conduct studies on the disease did a tremendous job!. Our registration team, High Performance Movement, also did quite a job handling that aspect of the event beautifully over several months. All of our volunteers were just fabulous as well!
Individual videos of the presenters and their PowerPoint presentations, (if they had one) and many photos from the event will be posted later this week on our PASD website: parkinsonsassociation
.org. Please watch for it, as we are trying to get it all up no later than this Friday. As soon as you see it posted, please feel free to alert and urge others to also view it (especially those that could not attend) and others who may benefit from the information.
Our Empowerment Event Planning Committee is meeting on Tuesday, December 12th to review all of the Evaluation results and to commence planning for the next event (date to be determined). You have provided not only excellent feedback via the forms, but your personal comments to us throughout the day, were very much appreciated! Also, as applicable, please don’t forget to practice skills learned and/or incorporate new supportive services into your life!
As was stated by PASD Board President Dr. Wayne Label, during his MC role, PASD is absolutely DEDICATED to providing information, education and resource awareness to assist individuals here in San Diego County who have or are affected by PD.
We will also keep you updated via e-mail e-blasts that we send out to our data base that contain critical PD information. If you just signed up for the first time to receive them, please also watch your spam. They are e-mailed out four or five times a month and more frequently when information arrives that is important to get out to you right away.
Thank you again for attending! You were 1st Class in every respect and it was our distinct pleasure to present the event for you!
