Pat McDonnell joined the Board in September 2010, bringing with him a wealth of experience in working with the local Parkinson’s community and a keen understanding of the issues facing Parkinson’s families.
Pat currently works as senior therapy representative at Medtronic Neuromodulation, the world’s largest medical technology company. Medtronic develops and manufactures devices and therapies to treat more than 30 chronic diseases, including Parkinson’s disease.
A native of Walnut Creek, California, Pat’s involvement with Parkinson’s patients covers the entire spectrum of the management of their disease. His role is to help answer their questions about Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapy, the implications, what they should expect during and after the procedure, caregiver and family member questions, while serving as a general resource for the therapy to anyone involved in their care. He also consults and interacts with treating neurologists and implanting neurosurgeons.
A resident of San Diego, Pat is a retired Navy Reserve Captain. He and his wife, Sharon, have three children.
