2024 Step by Step 5K Walk

April 6, 2024

A HUGE SUCCESS

Thank you all for making this year‘s walk our most successful ever. How do we know? How do we measure success? Part of it is in the numbers. Almost 1100 walkers, 55 sponsors and vendors, perfect weather, a FLASH MOB, and some of the best and most fun energy we’ve seen in a walk.

Below you’ll find the numbers: top corporate teams, top individual teams, top individual fundraisers.

But there’s one new metric that appeared this year – the number of people who joined our walk for the first time. This year almost a third of our walkers we’re new to our Step by Step 5K.

Our goal at the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego is to serve our local Parkinson’s community. One of our main internal missions is to reach people and families impacted by Parkinson’s who don’t yet know about our services, don’t know about our education programs, don’t know about the resources we offer, and don’t know how we can help them. This year we were able to reach many of those people.

Through your help telling friends, family, and acquaintances, we extended our reach. And not only with individuals and families. We were also joined this year by new sponsors and vendors, bringing you new information, new services, and new products that you explored at the walk.

We thank YOU for giving us the opportunity to serve more people and provide more programming about Parkinson’s. Please read on as we thank those who supported the walk as individuals and sponsors, and those who created and managed this amazing event for us.

Gratefully,

Chris Buscher, Executive Director
Marty Acevedo, Board President
Jeff Seckendorf, Director of Operations
