$5,167.00 Donated!
Thank you for coming to my donation page!
After hiking Machu Picchu in 2016, the Camino Santiago in 2018 and the Dolomites in 2022 I am now training with my Power Over Parkinson’s friends to hike the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail in Japan this May.
As in the past, we will pay our own travel expenses and are also collecting donation money. Half of the money we raise will go to support the good works of the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego. Check out all they do on this website! The other half of the donations will be donated to support the creation of an MRI surgery suite at Scripps Hospital.
Why build this MRI suite? Because after over twelve years of research and the FDA approval process the dopamine cell replacement therapy developed by Aspen Neuroscience, and the motivation for Sherrie Gould to begin these fund-raising treks, is starting clinical trials this year. Not only that, but on May 16 I am scheduled to travel to the University of Arizona in Tucson to receive my dopamine neurons grown from my own skin cells. I am so excited to be on the leading edge of this treatment that shows so much
promise to improve so many lives now and in the future!
