Designed for newly diagnosed Parkinson’s patients and their care givers/care partners, or anyone looking to advance their knowledge of Parkinson’s, the seminar is a 2 hour session followed by Q&A. It will feature Dr. Brenton Wright, Movement Disorders Neurologist and Medical Advisor to PASD; PASD Board President Marty Acevedo, RDN; Meagan George, DPT, of NeuroLab360; Irene Miller, Fallbrook Support Group Team Leader; Emory D’Andrea, MS, CCC-SLP; and PASD Director of Operations Jeff Seckendorf.
Specific topics will include maintaining a positive attitude; understanding Parkinson’s; choosing a physician; common medications, care givers/care partners; importance of exercise and nutrition; benefits of physical; occupational, speech and music therapy; research, Support Groups, Mentor Program, and an overview of other additional resources. Individuals who would like to update their knowledge base of PD are also more than welcome to attend.
