Elizabeth Torres PsyD, ABPP

Position: Clinical Psychologist
Categories: Clinical Psychologist
Location: San Diego – City

I am a board-certified Clinical Psychologist (ABPP) licensed to practice in California and Massachusetts. Based in San Diego, I specialize in working with individuals at any stage of Parkinson’s Disease helping clients and their loved ones enhance their quality of life.

My professional journey began with a degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1990, followed by a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from Rutgers University in 1996. I completed my clinical training with pre- and post-doctoral work at Harvard Medical School/McLean Hospital, supplemented by years of extensive professional training in diverse topics and modalities. For more than two decades in Boston, I maintained a private practice while serving in academic and supervisory roles at Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital. These roles provided opportunities to teach, supervise, and consult in evidence-based psychological care, as well as to contribute to public education and professional training initiatives.

Since 1996, I have cultivated a therapeutic approach that is compassionate, personalized, and trauma-informed. I aim to foster wellness by promoting adaptability, emotional resilience, and a value-driven life. Therapy with me integrates active listening and practical tools to navigate challenges, tailored to the unique needs of each individual. As someone who has faced painful life experiences and uncertainties, I have deep respect for those who face difficulties, the unwanted and unanticipated in life, and still strive to create a life of value and purpose.

My approach prioritizes collaboration with your care team to ensure comprehensive support. I am passionate about empowering clients to maintain flexibility and a sense of purpose, even amidst the challenges of Parkinson’s.

My practice is entirely online and operates on a cash-pay basis, although I provide Superbill documentation for those pursuing insurance reimbursement. Outside of my professional life, I treasure the everyday joys of living in San Diego and finding inspiration in nature.

If you’re seeking a supportive and knowledgeable partner in navigating Parkinson’s, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
