Elizabeth Torres PsyD, ABPP
I am a board-certified Clinical Psychologist (ABPP) licensed to practice in California and Massachusetts. Based in San Diego, I specialize in working with individuals at any stage of Parkinson’s Disease, helping clients and their loved ones enhance their quality of life. I work with individuals living with Parkinson’s as well as their care partners, and I also offer couples therapy to support the many adjustments that arise in relationships.
I focus on helping clients manage the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s—such as anxiety, depression, cognitive changes, and relationship stress. Because Parkinson’s is unpredictable, I offer flexibility in how we structure our work. I can meet with individuals, care partners, or both, depending on what is most helpful at a given time. I also prioritize coordination with your care team to ensure integrated, comprehensive support when necessary. My approach is grounded in respect, collaboration, and adaptability, and is always tailored to your specific needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all structure.
My practice is private-pay only. I do not accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid, though I provide Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Most sessions are conducted via telehealth. I also offer in-person sessions on Fridays in Sorrento Valley, and in some cases, a one-time home visit may be available for the initial meeting if you are located in Central or North Coastal San Diego; please inquire if you’re interested.
I offer a free 15-minute video or phone consultation to help us determine whether working together feels like a good fit. You can schedule here: https://elizabeth-torres.clientsecure.me
My professional career began with a degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1990, followed by a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from Rutgers University in 1996. I completed clinical training at Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital, and spent over two decades in private practice in Boston. During that time, I held academic and supervisory roles focused on evidence-based psychological care. I remain committed to reducing stigma and promoting compassionate, accessible care for those facing mental health challenges.
