I was diagnosed on March 15, 2019. Sixty years is the average age of onset and I had just turned 60 years old the month before. The Parkinson’s Association of San Diego was there for me “to provide programs and services that enhance mind, movement and morale.” I went to Empowerment Day to hear from experts in the field and attended monthly support group meetings. Regular activity is key for a good prognosis, so I incorporate an exercise routine four days a week and hike with the “North San Diego Parkinson’s Hiking Group”. For morale, I surround myself with friends that support me. I would not choose to have Parkinson’s, yet it chose me. Contributing to the Parkinson’s Association of San Diego promotes their role in providing vital information and connecting resources to the Parkinson’s community throughout San Diego.
Have fun on your adventure! From a friend of Kris Chase.
