The Parkinson’s Association of San Diego has created an education program for mental health professionals – clinical psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and social workers on the intricacies of working with people and families impacted by Parkinson’s. Gladys Newbury, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in supporting individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. She previously worked at the University of California, Irvine Neurology Clinic, where she gained extensive experience providing counseling and resources to patients navigating complex neurological conditions. A proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and fluent Spanish speaker, Gladys is committed to delivering culturally competent, compassionate care to diverse communities. She offers therapy via telehealth to clients across Southern California and in the state of Montana, using evidence-based approaches to enhance quality of life and emotional well-being for those impacted by Parkinson’s disease.
