Dr. Longardner and Biomedical engineers are attempting to validate the clinical application of a non-invasive, wearable continuous blood pressure monitor. The device is a small patch on top of the skin the uses ultrasound to measure blood pressure. The study consists of a single 3-hour visit in which we’ll collect your medical history, conduct a cognitive assessment, and record a preliminary blood pressure measurement during the first hour. The following time will consist of two trained observers manually collecting blood pressure measurements alongside the wearable blood pressure monitor test device at three intervals: 1) lying down; 2) standing up; 3) lying down again.
